We are a world-class supplier of engineering raw materials. Our objective is to provide all our customers, from the small machine shop to the large multi-national corporation, a supply path that continuously delivers the highest levels of service, quality and value.
CZ112 is commonly referred to as a Naval brass and is used typically in a wide range of marine and subsea applications.
This brass alloy offers superior strength and corrosion resistance and offers good property retention at cryogenic temperatures. With excellent hot formability and superior corrosion resistance, the material is used extensively in the marine, oil &gas and petrochemical sector. The composition of the alloy, with 60% copper, 39% zinc and the vital addition of 1% tin, results in improved corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
CZ112 offers improved corrosion resistance and better strength levels than alpha brasses. With excellent hot formability, CZ112 has a harder and stronger duplex structure.
Commercial applications for this engineering material include:
We stock CZ112 in flats, round bar, plate, sheet, round tube, hollow bar, square bar, hexagon bar, angles, channels, tee sections and hollow hexagon bar.
Our knowledgeable staff and resident metallurgists will be pleased to assist you further on any technical topic. Smiths Metal Centres Limited also boasts an in-house UKAS Accredited Testing Laboratory which is unique within the multi-metal and plastic stockholding sector. We believe this underlines our total commitment to quality and our ethos of being the complete service provider.
