We are a world-class supplier of engineering raw materials. Our objective is to provide all our customers, from the small machine shop to the large multi-national corporation, a supply path that continuously delivers the highest levels of service, quality and value.
Alloy 2024 is one of the more prominent aluminium alloys.
Due to the alloys good fatigue resistance, especially in thick plate form, the material is specified for use in the aerospace and military sector in fuselage applications in such areas as structures and wing tension members. With improved fracture toughness and fatigue crack growth, Alloy 2024 continues to maintain strength characteristics. The alloy is available in T3, T4 and T8 tempers and the annealed state.
Alloy 2024 offers excellent toughness at moderately high strength levels. With good strength and fatigue resistance, and improved fracture toughness, the alloy is specified by the aerospace sector and the military.
Commercial applications for this engineering material include:
We stock 2024 in flats, round bar, plate, sheet, strip, round tube, rectangular tube, square tube, square bar, hexagon bar, channels and tee sections.
