Grade 2014A is a high strength aluminium alloy which retains its strength after heat treatment.
The material contains 4-5% copper alloy in the fully heat-treated condition (solution heat-treated & artificially aged). The material offers superior machinability and is used widely in the aerospace and defence sector in the manufacture of high strength components. Typically, 2014A aluminium alloy is stocked in the T651 condition and produced in extruded bar or profile form.
2014A aluminium is easily plated and can be hard anodised. The alloy is heat treatable and offers good strength after this process.
