Oil-filled nylon is homogeneously permeated with an oil-based lubricant.
Sometimes referred to as Oilon®, Oil-filled nylon is an engineering plastic which offers increased load-bearing performance when compared to unfilled nylon products. For example, oil-filled nylon provides 25% lower friction when compared to standard cast Nylon 6. Being 1/7th the weight of bronze, the wear life of the plastic is up to 20 times greater than bronze.
The plastic is an ideal product for applications where abrasion resistance is a consideration. Reduced moisture is another feature of the product. We have the capability to supply oil-filled nylon in rod and plate.
