We are a world-class supplier of engineering raw materials. Our objective is to provide all our customers, from the small machine shop to the large multi-national corporation, a supply path that continuously delivers the highest levels of service, quality and value.
DEF STAN 02-779 (NES779) is a cupronickel alloy (copper-nickel) which contains 90% copper and 10% nickel; the alloy was formally known as CN102.
The chemical structure of the alloy is further enhanced by the introduction of iron and manganese to improve overall strength and corrosion resistance. The corrosion resistance of the alloy is outstanding, and DEF STAN 02-779 (NES779) finds traditional use in marine environments due to the low rates of corrosion in seawater. The alloy also offers excellent resistance from crevice and stress corrosion. With enhanced durability, DEF STAN 02-779 (NES779) is easily joined, formed and fabricated.
DEF STAN 02-779 (NES779) Copper Nickel Alloy offers outstanding corrosion resistance. The alloy has a pleasing aesthetic appearance and is oxidation resistant. It is easily joined and has high ductility and durability. We offer this material in Grade 1, which is ultrasonically tested to DEF STAN 02-729 Part 5 Issue 3, supplied with 3.2 certification as standard and to NDE02-05 latest revision.
